A Pentatonix Christmas by Pentatonix

Well… It’s Ok.


Let me preface this by saying that I am a hard-core Pentaholic, and love their work. However, this Christmas album was not on par with their previous one. By no means was it bad (all the members have amazing talent!) but it wasn’t something to listen to on repeat like their last albums. The songs seemed predictable in arrangement, with it corresponding in styles nearly exactly with the last albums (Sugar Plum Fairy vs God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Hark the Herald Angels Sing vs O Come All Ye Faithful, and White Christmas vs It’s The Most Wonderful Time are the most obvious). The original songs are trite at best, juvenile at worst. I expected better now that they have an original album under their belt. To be honest, they sound like they were written as an afterthought.
