Excellent Update of a Classic

SnoopMK1

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new version of The Wizard of Oz, currently running at the London Palladium, is a wonderful update of the classic film, taking the excellent film score and adapting it for the stage for modern audiences. The new songs work very well with the existing, classic score, and the casting is excellent. Danielle Hope makes a wonderful, refreshingly different Dorothy, and Hannah Waddingham is amazing as the Wicked Witch of the West. Emily Tierney as Glinda and Michael Crawford as the Wizard are also wonderful, and the whole supporting cast performs very well. The musical arrangments blend the new tunes with the old seamlessly. This is a very enjoyable recording and an accurate reflection of the truly wonderful stage production that I was fortunate to be able to see in London.
