One Of THE Perfect Albums Of The Rock N Roll Era
Bo’s music is seductive, braggardly, outrageous, comical, contemplative, sexual, and downright FUN! This album IMHO is his finest cohesive work, hitting his personal highs at a very consistant rate with these recordings. Who can’t smile at “Doin’ The Crawdad”, “Ride On Josephine”, or “Cadillac”? His version of “Sixteen Tons” is, for me, definitive. And I dare you not to at least bop your head to “Gunslinger”. Bo was at one of his many creative peaks during these recordings, with his own studio, his own band, and working at his own pace. An artist, a visionary, and as fine a singer (“No More Lovin'”) as damn near anyone in the 20th century. This album is one for the ages.
