Until his 2011 effort ‘This is Country Music’ Brad was widely considered the best hope for today’s country music, able to perfectly blend the neotraditional style (Alan Jackson and George Strait) with a more contemporary sound (songs such as Welcome to the Future, Old Alabama, The World are a perfect example).
While “Wheelhouse” was an interesting and challenging album -excellent in my opinion-, it was really outside Brad’s comfort zone.
The following “Moonshine in the Trunk” saw Brad experimenting with production effects on neotraditional songs, but it ultimately ended up being not that great and a little overstuffed by filler songs.
With this upcoming record, it looks like Brad is going back to his signature style: the Telecaster shines again among fiddles and steel guitars, the subject matters look refreshing…
