The String Quartet Tribute To Guns N' Roses by Vitamin String Quartet

Album Review

Many of these songs also appeared on Vitamin’s 2004 string tribute to Guns N’ Roses, so this release makes very little sense. Even if they’ve been re-recorded, the arrangements for violin, viola, cello, double bass, and percussion on “Mr. Brownstone,” “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” and “Paradise City” are nearly identical. A previously unavailable version of “Used to Love Her” is tasteful and sweet, the kind of unlikely interpretation that would play for ironic humor in a film. But anyone who purchased the first String Quartet Tribute to Guns N’ Roses should note the repetition in this one.
